Corporate Actions Officer
Settlements and Asset Servicing Team
Role Overview:
Working in the Investment Operations Department, reporting to the Senior Settlements Officer, the role is to receive, process and record all corporate actions for underlying investments. This is a customer facing role, requiring good oral communication skills to deal with complex customer queries. The role also involves activity to support processing other tasks in the wider Investments Department.
Key Tasks:
- Receive and review notifications of corporate events
- Arrange for distribution of event notification to customers
- Where an election is required, organise distribution to customers, setting deadlines and communicating these clearly
- Monitor the corporate actions diary, ensuring elections are returned by the deadline
- Deal with queries from customers and/or their advisors
- Where an event requires an amendment to policy holder investment records, input to the - policy holder portfolio
- Investigate and clear cash and stock reconciliation breaks where the cause is identified as a corporate action
- Review updates on suspended funds, and arranging for policy holders to receive the latest information
- Provide updates to management on events or notifications
- Monitor and control corporate actions inbox
- Assist the Senior Settlements Officer with other asset servicing transactions and input
- Assist the Senior Dealing Team Officer with security standing data set ups
- Assist with asset reconciliations
Skills / Knowledge:
- Understanding of Investments and portfolio administration
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience processing corporate actions, preferably in a Life Insurance Company
- Ability to process work in an organised manner, prioritising when necessary
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work in an independent manner
- Used to working to deadlines
- Good use of judgement on matters appropriate for escalation
