Finance Manager

We have a new opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager to work within the group’s busy Finance team in the Isle of Man. 

The successful candidate will preferably have a relevant accountancy qualification and a successful track record of leading and directing a team in the delivery of exceptional operating performance.

What will you do?

Lead, motivate and develop the purchase ledger team to ensure the achievement of individual, team, business unit and Group objectives
Manage the month end process by driving the timeframes and deliverables required to ensure Management companies and other businesses costs are reviewed and accurately reflected
Provide proactive support to Group Finance and Finance Business Partners/Controllers to ensure that costs incurred are in line with agreed budgets/targets and ensure a quality service is delivered by team members
Proactively manage own development, encompassing both technical and leadership requirements
Manage the shared service purchase ledger activity ensuring the team accurately, timely and completely record and pay all invoices received from suppliers
Management of the procurement system helpdesk to ensure all user queries and requirements are dealt with promptly and professionally
Responsibility for ensuring at each month end that financial provision (accruals) are made for all invoices received for third party suppliers which have not yet been recorded within the accounting system
Perform reporting, balance sheet reconciliations and financial analysis at each month end
Work collaboratively and provide support as and when required to other jurisdictions in relation to Sun accounting system modules & Group processes
Implement strong financial controls to all processes to ensure accurate, efficient and reliable procedures are followed and embraced within the team, striving for automated controls to be implemented where appropriate.
Manage the interaction with trade suppliers and other stakeholders in a prompt and professional manner
Provision of regular and ad-hoc statistical and management information on the purchasing activity
Preparation and timely submission of the Quarterly VAT Return, ensuring completeness and accuracy

Must-have

Successful track record of operating at Manager level ideally in a financial control role.
Strong team management skills to lead and direct finance resources.
Ability to build and gain trust and confidence with others.
Resilient – can work in a fast paced environment.
Nice to have

Relevant accountancy qualification
Knowledge and experience of the offshore trust industry would be an advantage
Operational experience of the Sun accounting system and related products would be an advantage
