Captive Insurance Manager

About the role
Reporting into the Client Service Director, the position has responsibility for underwriting and claims associated with certain lines of business, together with extensive interaction with a variety of stakeholders.  The role will also involve some travel to the UK and potentially further afield.

Underwriting
• Take ownership of certain lines of business and manage the renewals process
• Prepare (re)insurance documentation and manage renewal negotiations
• Report to the Board, insurance committee and other stakeholders as required
• Field technical questions on policy coverage

Claims
• Manage large and/or complex claims for certain lines of business
• Work directly with external consultants and advisers to settle such claims
• Manage claims data for financial reporting, actuarial and renewal purposes

Relationship Management
• Manage timely communications with the Insured, brokers and a variety of other third party service providers
• Attendance at Board, committee and other meetings as required by the Insured

About you


As a Captive Insurance Manager, you will ideally need to:

• Hold a relevant professional insurance qualification or be actively studying to achieve one
• Experience gained in the Insurance Industry, either within captive manager, insurance company or broker and have a track record of delivering service excellence
• Demonstrate the ability to communicate and interact with both colleagues and third parties
• Be self-motivated and possess leadership skills
• Possess good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including the ability to influence and persuade effectively
• Possess excellent time management skills and the ability to work to deadlines
• Have a natural thirst for development of yourself and others
