Head of Compliance

Job Type: Executive

Location: Isle of Man

Main Responsibilities
As the Head of Compliance you will work with the MLRO and Data Protection Officer and the existing team to instil and foster a robust compliance culture across the business and ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and legislative requirements, enabling the continued provision of a strong framework of internal controls and best practice guidance. Main duties will include, but are not limited to:
• Identifying new legislation and regulation impacting the business both locally and extra territorially; evaluating the impact and incorporate into compliance processes
• Working closely with the regulator and completing returns and documentation on time and in accordance with regulatory requirements
• Providing practical, tailored advice and guidance on the proper application and interpretation of laws and regulations, including codes and internal policies
• Managing the introduction and development of Three Lines of Defence across the compliance function
• Establishing and maintaining strong working relationships, trust and credibility both internally and externally
• Providing education and on-going training on compliance issues
• Conducting risk assessments, file reviews and evaluation of proposed new business
• Monitoring compliance in key risk areas
• Reviewing, maintaining, enhancing and testing documented policies and procedures and ensuring staff accessibility and awareness at all times
• Working with and assisting the Group Compliance Director in relation to Group compliance, strategy, policies and procedures
• Joining and leading Group compliance related project teams

Requirements
• A minimum of 3 years AML and compliance related experience in a senior role, preferably in TCSP environment
• Hold a professional compliance/AML/legal qualification
• Strong interpersonal skills and be articulate and confident
• Proven leadership and organisational skills, an investigative mind-set, and the ability to successfully balance multiple priorities and deliver to tight deadlines
